Hillary Clinton: "The U.S. should not 'thank' Iran for releasing prisoners unjustly held"

Ethan Mercer | 1/18/2016

Despite the successful and peaceful return of U.S. sailors by Iran last week, Hillary Clinton has called for new sanctions on the on the nation in response to its ballistic missile program.

Iran is still in violation of the UN Security Council resolutions, which Hillary intends on reacting to with “firm resolve.”

These events have shown, Clinton would like to point out, the power that negotiations and diplomacy have to resolve delicate situations. Clinton said she is “very greatly relieved by the safe return of American prisoners from Iran. Their families and our country have waited and prayed for this day to come.”

Still, the United States has a key role to play in making sure that Iran does not implement unauthorized nuclear and missile programs to help keep “the United States, our allies, and the entire world safer.”
