When Antonin Scalia, Justice of the United States Supreme Court, suddenly passed away, Congress immediately locked into a battle with the White House. Justice Scalia was an outspoken conservative who fought to uphold the Constitution as he thought the Founding Fathers would have intended. With his death the SCOTUS has four conservative Justices and four liberal Jjustices. The new Justice will break the tie so the nominee has huge implications. President Obama wants to nominate someone quickly and have them ratified immediately, while Congress argues the nomination should be delayed until the new President is elected.
